Hi Cancer Pathways Community! My name is Madeline Cody, but please call me Maddie. I am thrilled to announce that I will be the Family Program Manager at Cancer Pathways. I am a New England native but moved to the Pacific Northwest two years ago to attend the University of Washington Master of Social Work Program. I completed my Master’s degree with a specific focus on oncology social work and since graduation I have been working at Overlake Hospital and Medical Center as a Clinical Social Worker. I have experiences in many areas of social work but working with families who have been touched by cancer is something I am particularly passionate about because I was a child who was touched by cancer. My father was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma when I was 5 years old and living through that experience is a significant part of my identity. In addition to my personal and professional social work background, I have experience as a camp counselor, educator and group facilitator which I believe will serve me well in my various roles at Cancer Pathways. I am more than excited to start this journey of support, advocacy and education with all of you. In my spare time you will find me in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest hiking, skiing, camping and backpacking. Please do not hesitate to reach out and connect with me. I look forward to meeting you all!
