MEET BRYCE FISHER

Host of the 2018 Cancer Pathways Golf Classic

Shortly after signing a contract to play with the Seattle Seahawks, Bryce Fisher received some life altering news. His mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer. After the diagnosis, the Seahawks were supportive and connected Bryce and his family with Cancer Pathways where he immediately began volunteering and attending support groups for caregivers.

Wanting to increase his involvement and support of Cancer Pathways, Bryce established our annual golf tournament, bringing together our community and raising funds for the programs he had relied on while his mom was in treatment. His goal was to reach a new audience who hadn’t already attended our programs or our annual gala. Starting with around 100 participants, the golf tournament has grown over the years to almost 200 participants.

Bryce joined the Cancer Pathways board in 2009, shortly after retiring from the NFL. He loves how committed his fellow board members are, showing a level of commitment and dedication he hasn’t seen in other organizations. Although he loves the golf tournament, Bryce says his favorite program is Camp Sparkle as it creates a safe and open space for kids to express themselves where they don’t feel alone. He looks forward to the future of Cancer Pathways and connecting with underserved communities where cancer isn’t spoken about openly.
